It doesn’t feel all that long ago that I did the engagement shoot for these two. Things have a funny way of working out in life. If you’d told me that I’d be at their wedding after the engagement shoot, I wouldn’t have believed you. It’s still mind-blowing to me that I was there at their wedding, on their special day, taking photos and telling their story. . . Giving them something to remember for the rest of their lives.
I think that people tend to look at wedding photography more for the commercial and financial side of things. But what we do is far more worth than any kind of monetary value. These photos and memories transcend all that. They stay with each couple over the course of their life, it tells their story and everything about them. The space that they share, the smiles, the laughs, the good times, and the bad. It’s all there to remind them of where they are and how far they’ve come.
I don’t want to take away from the photoset too much, so I’ll save my final words for the end. For now. . .
This is Nigel and Mergie.

Just like the day of the wedding, whether it be that you two share the same pain, the same troubles, or stresses; know that the rain does fade, you’ll find that the sun will always shine on you two. All the love, compassion, and kindness you give to each other is more than you’ll ever know. It’s imbued into every word, every second, and in all the effort that you put into your marriage. Cherish and nurture all that you have. It’s a beautiful and unique relationship that you two have developed and I hope that it’s just as radiant as it was on this day — if not brighter through the years of your journey. Work tirelessly towards being the best that you can. . . not only for yourself but for each other. I know that you won’t ever stop working towards building a home for each other within yourselves. Congratulations Nigel and Mergie, I’m honored to have been a part of this blessed day.
I just want to finish this off with a special thank you to everyone that I had the opportunity of working with. It was an absolute honor and pleasure to be a part of the team and work with everyone involved. It’s one of the best parts of being in this field.
