It started with a simple mention of a wedding photographer. My brother’s girlfriend — Sam — had been family friends with Carra, they grew up together and she’d told me quite a bit about their childhood. But she’d asked Carra casually if she had a wedding photographer booked for their wedding yet, and if not maybe she could check out my work. She looked through my gallery and saw Sam + Scheon and Sam had told me she was interested. So I shot an email over to Carra introducing myself just to get the ball rolling. We’d discussed pricing, what she was offered from another photographer (it had me a little shaken), what my package was etc. She told me a little bit about the wedding as a whole, the decor, location, and the general vibe she was going for and I fell in love with it. A few more emails back and forth and she’d emailed back saying “let’s do it”.
I’m not gonna lie, it was an awesome moment reading those first three words. It’s always amazing to get confirmation that someone is entrusting me with their day and their photos. It’s a huge honor. We continued the email chain over the course of a few months, and I’d asked if they were interested in an engagement shoot they said yes and I started brainstorming and planning. They wanted something a bit more unique, but I still wanted to deliver something traditional alongside those photos. We’d settled on a sunrise shoot in Central Park, and rented out a small studio space in Williamsburg for something a little more unique, intimate, and stylized.
I could write about this day for quite a while, but I’ll save some words for the end.
For now, this is Carra and Justin.
I can’t say enough about these two. They were an absolute pleasure to shoot with, I enjoyed every second shooting with them. They’re such kind souls, they’re so authentic to who they are, and they remind me why I do what I do. Shout out to them for getting up for this sunrise shoot, for going along with the idea of a studio shoot I can’t express my gratitude enough to these two. We spent all day talking, laughing, and just enjoying the day capturing some beautiful photos.
I hope I delivered a gallery you both love, thank you for taking me along and allowing me to be a part of your journey. It’s such an honor to have worked with you, thank you so much.
